Thanks for this page. I wanted a yellow diamond for my engagement ring and I let it be known to my bf. He did his homework and after coming here to learn about color enhanced diamonds he could manage to get this (I'm send a pic. sorry not a great shot but the ring is beautiful).
Frank got a good price on a big stone. It was a lot bigger than I even hoped for, everyone's eyes pop when they see it.

I was happy to be a part of something that had such a great result!

No doubt about it.... it is a knockout.

I do notice that it has 8 yellow gold prongs holding the diamond, which is a good thing. The yellow gold will help deepen the color of the yellow color enhanced diamond but you will need to make sure to have the prongs checked a bit more often because they are made of yellow gold verses prongs made of white gold or platinum.

Gold is alloyed with different metals for different purposes.. silver will give it a greenish color, copper a reddish color. Nickel is added to give it the whitish color and it also makes it harder which is a good feature for a prong.

Because the prongs are yellow it won't have the same hardness as white gold so they will wear down a bit quicker. It is always a good idea to visit a local jewelry store to have any ring checked every 6 months or at a minimum once a year.
